PF Kitchen Design Notes – Beautiful & Neutral Lay-On Shaker, Digswell, Herts3 min read

Nestled in the beautiful countryside of Digswell we find a brand new project featuring our Lay-On Shaker. Our handmade furniture is placed in every corner of this large open-plan family space, where the fresh and bright design will work all year round with the different seasons and trends.

Fields upon fields, you can see for miles from this property and our client wanted to bring the outside in and provide the space with more colour, and life. The choice of plants we see creates a trendy and stylish hub of the home that makes this foliage-filled cook space a dream.

The Style – Interior & Exterior

Designed in an L-shaped layout with an island centred in the middle, our Lay-On shaker provides the space and our client with a timeless design. Inside each cupboard and drawer, you will find a solid oak interior and a soft close – a sturdy frame that’s suited to all types of small and bulky items.

Completing the outer side of the cabinets are Armac Martin Gaumont handles and knobs in satin chrome. They tie in with the chrome trim found on the Lacanche range. This collection has been designed with a nod to the deco era and is ideal for this modern space.

Our handmade bespoke kitchens are handcrafted with the finest quality materials that will stand the test of time.

The Colours

Finding the right colours for this kitchen was pretty easy for our client as they knew they wanted a green and a lighter hue to match. The colours chosen are both from Little Greene – Boringdon Green & Rolling Fog Pale.

We hand-painted the island in Boringdon Green – a serene, muted green with calming features that look crisp against white woodwork.

The rest of the cabinets were hand-painted in Rolling Fog Pale – a lighter shade of the popular warm neutral paint.

The Appliances

There are some gorgeous appliances to talk about and this has to be one of our favourite shots of the kitchen. The views are simply outstanding inside and out.

First, the Lacanche range matches the tones of the island. Our client opted for the Lacanche Macon range cooker in Light Olive to finish this dream kitchen with a phenomenal, truly professional performance. The Lacanche is different from other range cookers on the market because they are still being made to exact standards by hand to order.

We made the range become an important feature of the layout and built it amongst the main run of cabinetry. Just sitting underneath that beautiful roof lantern, the gorgeous tones of the green will shine. We are also obsessed with the antiqued mirror splashback that creates an illusion of more space.

Located on the end of the kitchen island is a Caple wine cooler. Our client’s brief for the island was a place to entertain, so we thought it was a truly fitting place for it to sit. This innovative design is full of amazing features and is a wine lover’s best friend.

Other appliances chosen for the space are a Neff dishwasher, tall fridge & freezer – all built in.

The Finishing Touches

There are many finishing touches to talk about from the white quartz worktops that are functional yet beautiful and provide the most stunning contrast to the design elements found in every corner, to the floor-to-ceiling day pantry that’s complete with adequate shelves and space to home every kitchen essential.

We also flowed the cabinets seamlessly through to another room creating a lovely utility. Hand-painted in the same green as the kitchen, Boringdon Green by Little Greene, this space allows our client to complete the chores in peace with a selection of cabinets that house all the essentials from cleaning products to the ironing board. A window is also seen in this room which allows our client to see other views of their land and the sunshine to beam through.
