Quietly Effortless New Build Barn Walk-In Pantry

In Preston, Hertfordshire, tucked behind a false wall in the main run of cabinetry, our client’s walk-in pantry reveals itself as a beautifully considered room in its own right, all through a pocket door. It’s a piece of quiet design, drawing you through into a dedicated space designed with every bit as much care as the kitchen it serves.

The cabinetry is our In-Frame beaded Shaker, a style that brings architectural precision and softer, more traditional detailing in equal measure, suiting a barn setting beautifully. Whitewashed oak floating shelves run along the walls, making the room feel open and airy, and the whitewashed oak wall-mounted spice rack sits within easy reach. Integrated LED lighting picks out the shelves and the working surfaces below, casting a warm, even glow that shifts the atmosphere of the room as the day turns to night.

It has also been fitted with a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer double dishwasher sitting within the run, and set into the worktop is a Caple Cheshire ceramic undermount sink bringing a soft, traditional note that feels entirely at home in the barn setting, paired with a Franke pull-down spray tap in industrial black.

Together, it’s a room designed to do more than just store the ingredients for the next dinner party. It’s a proper second working space, a hidden sanctuary within a sanctuary, ready to take on the prep, the wash-down and everything in between, and to make hosting from the main kitchen feel entirely effortless.
