Featuring in Armac Martin’s February article, Inspiring Green Kitchen Ideas for 2022, you will see our Ashwell, Hertfordshire project as the cover photo as well as throughout the blog, we are super proud of this, seeing our very own piece of work on a world known website.
The Armac Martin blog talks about redecorating your kitchen in 2022, using this year’s colour trend, Green. You will also see our director Leanne commenting on how and what green shade to choose for the kitchen and what Armac Martin knobs and handles we completed this gorgeous kitchen with.
Green has always been a popular colour in the kitchen but we are seeing it more and more throughout the kitchen designs we come across in modern times. This year’s trending colour draws on much more understated hues of fresh herbs and produce like sage and olive, while more statement shades are emeralds and deep forest greens, which both are in demand.
The green kitchen Armac Martin talks about is in fact the most popular green kitchen among our projects and has a huge social media following. Designed with our Lay-On Shaker, this dream kitchen sits beautifully at the rear of this quaint property in Ashwell, Hertfordshire, completed with the Queslett Pull & Queslett Square Knob in the burnished brass finish.

Choosing the Right Green
Giving green the go-ahead in your kitchen is an exciting way of adding colour to your home. When it comes to choosing what green, think about the space you have to work with, what mood you want to create and whether you want the green to make a feature or add interest in smaller parts.
Leanne, our director, “When it comes to choosing the right green for your kitchen cabinets it can be a complex process as lots of elements should be taken into account. Natural light plays a huge role, and so does the ceiling height and window position. If you have a lot of light and space, opt for darker and bolder shades. Your choice of worktop and tiling will also influence the shade like natural finishes such as oak and granite look great with lighter greens whereas adding a bright white in the mix offers a striking contrast to deeper shades.”

Exploring Green and Pink Together
If you want a contemporary colour to match the green, think pink. This popular duo appears opposite each other on the colour wheel meaning they effortlessly enhance one another. Why not incorporate hints of a pink colour through the tiles, artwork and decorative details.
Our project in Ashwell, Hertfordshire uses the mesmerising and inviting Minster Green combined with Ca’ Pietra pink tiles that bring a softer touch to the grandeur of the intense green. These pretty tiles sit behind the AGA range cooker making a beautiful feature on one side of the L-shaped layout.

Light Green Furniture
Check out the dark grey-green bootility that sits behind that traditional green kitchen we have just been talking about. Separated by beautiful stable doors this Lay-On shaker is designed in a functional layout that has a space for everything. Not only is it a utility but a boot room too. A separate door to the outdoors so no muddy shoes and paws are taken through the home.
Treron by Farrow & Ball is the colour we hand-painted this furniture in.
Leanne our director says, “Light green kitchens can make the space look a lot bigger, especially if the colour is teamed with another light colour, such as soft pink or shades of beige.”
