For all lovers of country style, we turn this brand-new kitchen project located in a 1920s home, into a dream entertaining space that has been thought about for many years. Each area that we have created is dedicated to something new and enticing and makes the kitchen a fun place to be. We can’t wait to show you around!
The Style – Interior & Exterior
To match the country style and hygge approach our client opted for our In-Frame shaker kitchen with a cockbead frame. The shape of the room was perfect for an L-shaped layout with a separate unit for the ultimate fridge! The space was large enough for an island to sit in the middle – this was designed solely for prep and storage with a fronted end complete with slated timber.
The interior of each cupboard and drawer is of solid oak with a soft close – all our bespoke handmade furniture is handcrafted with the finest quality materials that will stand the test of time.
The Colours
Our client wanted to create an enticing hygge home that was light and fresh throughout. The kitchen was the next room to be done on the renovation list and the brief was that it had to bring cosy moments of comfort and appreciation to our client and family’s everyday life, creating a beautiful country-style kitchen. Choosing from a huge colour palette of neutral tones, our client opted for Slaked Lime and Slaked Lime Dark both by Little Greene. Both of these colours are pure and neutral, made with a combination of minerals to give a warm and soft appearance.
Just to give you an idea of the colour scheme and how we used the paint choices, we hand-painted the darker hue onto the island as our client wanted to create a soft focal point that would blend harmoniously with the other cabinets and metallics found in the design.
The Appliances
Our client has a hungry and growing family with three young boys, so keeping them fed is no easy task, but thanks to the Steel Cucine Ascot Range Cooker, it is considerably easier. This modern and sophisticated design has been chosen in stainless steel to inspire its traditional roots, elegant aesthetics and refined details.
Above the range cooker sitting underneath the beautiful bespoke mantle is the Westin Prime extractor. Check out those large supporting corbels!
To add to the growing family needs, the dreamiest fridge setup is found in this home. Our client chose a Fisher & Paykel French Door fridge freezer that is built in a separate housing and integrated behind the In-Frame shaker style doors. To keep everything a little more organised, storage baskets were added with labels from @label.lady.1.
In the breakfast pantry, there’s a Neff microwave.
The Finishing Touches
Two pantries (perfect country kitchen ideas) sit on the longer length of the L-shaped kitchen layout which is the perfect hiding spot for the breakfast/coffee station and additional cooking station. There is no longer the need for appliances to sit on the worktops as they can be cleverly hidden inside these beautiful cabinets. Our client opted for bi-fold doors to make the pantries become part of the kitchen when they are open and fully used.
Behind the hob of the range cooker and providing a stunning and functional splashback is a hand-silvered antiqued mirror splashback. We love this choice of designs for many reasons, but wouldn’t you agree it looks simply wonderful?
Each cabinet and drawer is graced with Perrin & Rowe handles and knobs in a pewter finish that matches the Phoenician tap and rinse and mini hot tap found in the sink area. The pewter finish is a little different to the popular stainless steel and we are for it. The sink our client chose was the Shaws Bradshaw undermount.
To tie in the whole design and carry on with the fresh approach, is the choice of worktops. The worktop is from CRL Stone and is the Calacatta Dorado quartz – a stunning veined surface that adds character and depth to the space and is perfect for the family thanks to its hard-wearing properties.
