Blanco

Blanco is a German manufacturer of kitchen sinks, taps and waste systems, founded in 1925 in Sulzfeld. Silgranit Granite Composite Sinks

Silgranit is Blanco’s flagship sink material, a composite of approximately 80 percent natural granite particles and 20 percent acrylic binder. The result is a sink that looks like quarried stone but performs like an engineered surface. Silgranit is heat resistant to 280 degrees, scratch resistant against everyday knives and pans, stain resistant against red wine and beetroot, and available in 11 colours including Anthracite, Rock Grey, Volcano Grey and Alumetallic.

Silgranit sinks are particularly popular in in-frame shaker and lay-on shaker kitchens, where the natural stone aesthetic works with traditional shaker cabinetry. They are also popular in modern handleless kitchens, where the matte stone finish contrasts with smooth painted timber.

Stainless Steel, Ceramic and Workstation Sinks

Blanco’s stainless steel range includes both undermount and inset sinks in various bowl configurations. Ceramic sinks include Belfast style fireclay sinks for traditional kitchens. The most innovative recent addition is the workstation sink range, called Etagon, which has integrated rails inside the bowl for sliding cutting boards, colanders and rinse trays directly over the sink, turning the sink into a multi zone prep area.

Blanco also makes a full range of taps designed to coordinate with the sinks. These include single lever mixers, pull-out spray heads, and the Linus and Catris ranges of multi function taps with filtered water options.

Blanco: Frequently Asked Questions

Blanco is best known for inventing Silgranit, a granite composite sink material that combines the look of natural stone with the durability of a hardwearing engineered surface. The brand also makes stainless steel sinks, ceramic sinks and a full range of taps.

Silgranit is a composite material made of approximately 80 percent natural granite particles bonded together with acrylic. It looks like quarried stone but is more consistent, more chip resistant and more stain resistant than natural stone. Silgranit is heat resistant up to 280 degrees.

Silgranit sinks are designed to last decades. They resist scratches from everyday knives and pans, do not stain from red wine, beetroot or curry, and do not discolour with hot water. Blanco offers a long-term durability guarantee on Silgranit.

Blanco was founded in Sulzfeld, Germany in 1925 and most of its sinks and taps are still designed in Germany. Manufacturing is split across Germany and other European facilities.

Silgranit is available in 11 colours including Anthracite, Rock Grey, Volcano Grey, Alumetallic, White, Tartufo, Coffee, Cafe and several intermediate stone tones. The matte finish suits both modern and traditional kitchens.

A workstation sink has integrated rails inside the bowl that allow cutting boards, colanders and rinse trays to slide directly across the sink area. This turns the sink into a multi zone prep area, with washing, cutting, draining and rinsing all in one space.
