Get Pantry Organised3 min read

You are very fortunate to have a pantry within your kitchen, but are you utilising it to the best of its ability? Pantries are one of the most requested features in the kitchen and they are well known for the storage they bring to your space which is ideal to store dried goods, pots, pans and jars of produce.

Pantries are not only practical storage solutions, but they also add plenty of style to the space, perfect for traditional homes, country kitchens and a firm favourite amongst home bakers. From large walk-in pantries to slim full-height pull-out larders complete with bespoke racking and solid drawers, Planet Furniture has a solution for every size and type of kitchen, as well as taking on board your needs, requirements and personality.

We will design you the perfect one that will fit perfectly into your kitchen layout. Whether it is built into a large alcove or unusual nook; you can opt for a storage unit with a double door that will store all your tins, boxed dried goods and jars or a breakfast pantry that’s ideal for cereals, bread and jams, everything will be in one place behind closed doors. How about making it more personalised to you and having soft close drawers with engravings on them such as names of contents, so nothing gets lost again? These personal touches make everything about your kitchen unique to you!

It is easy to get lost in the best way to organise your pantry, keeping it looking stylish and super-efficient, so we have come up with a few handy tips in helping you keep your cupboards beautifully organised. When you have everything in the right place it will be easier to look for items and you will be able to clearly see what you have.

Getting the Most out of your Bespoke Pantry

Design the shelf spacing right to maximise the room for storage. Floor-to-ceiling deep cupboards with an integrated worksurface are ideal for storing small appliances you may not want on view on the main kitchen tops. Create a middle part that is easy to reach, perfect for glass jars, tins and even mugs.

Dividers and shorter spacing allow you to keep things separate and see everything at a glance. Implement storage baskets at the bottom for fresh bread or veg, and include spice racks on the inside of the doors – convenient for the cook and you can go straight to the herb or spice you need.

Bespoke Kitchen Shelving

Everyone needs shelves in their kitchen and we love designing them into our kitchen pantries. By having shelves you are bound to be more organised, everything will have a place. You want to think about the weight of the items too rather than the height. Use more sturdy oak shelving to hold the weight of the jars and tins.

Changing with the Seasons

When the seasons change the food and items can vary too. Find different storage spaces to store away items that you may only use in the summer or at Christmas. Bring everyday items to the front of the pantry, it will also help in throwing away unwanted food, decluttering and freeing up the space.

How about decanting dried goods into stylish jars? Check out this spice cupboard we designed and built for this handmade kitchen in Hitchin. Placed above the hob for easy access and an engraving of “Spice up your life”, a quote we all know from the Spice Girls. Personally unique to our client.
