Project Description
Part of a wider three-room project at Gosmore, this media wall sits inside what was once a separate lounge, now folded into the open space of the kitchen, making it one of our favourite designs to date. Set at the back of the property, where the room opens directly onto the garden, and natural light becomes part of the design itself. We carefully positioned the media wall on one wall to allow daylight to shape the space, enhancing proportions, revealing textures and creating depth throughout. As the day moves, so does the room, and the design quietly responds.
The cabinetry is our PF Handleless range with a push-to-open mechanism, built into the property walls so it looks as if it was always intended to be there. The palette is layered and considered: Little Greene’s Slaked Lime Dark sits alongside Farrow & Ball’s Charleston Gray, two deep, characterful colours that hold the wall together and settle it into the room rather than competing with it. Most of the run is closed cabinetry, calm and architectural. Still, the rhythm is broken by open shelving designed specifically to showcase the clients’ love of Lego, with an array of special models given proper pride of place.
At the heart of the design is the open central section, where the TV and sound bar (supplied and installed by Lewcon Audio Visual Ltd) sit against a backdrop of reeded oak veneer back panelling, stained in Rubio Pure. The fluting catches the changing daylight beautifully, adding warmth and texture behind the screen and giving the whole arrangement somewhere soft to land. Just below it, a shelf in 20mm Lydia Gold quartz introduces a glimmer of pale gold veining and the iconic grey veining, for a quiet flash of luxury threaded through the more grounded tones above and below.
It’s a quiet luxury made for entertaining and relaxing in equal measure, a media wall that earns its place in the room whether the screen is on or off.
