Planet Furniture at KBB Birmingham 20264 min read

Celebrating 40 years of design innovation, the Planet Furniture team headed to Birmingham on Tuesday, 3rd March, for one of the most anticipated events in the interiors calendar, KBB Birmingham. This year marked a major milestone, celebrating 40 years of the UK’s leading kitchen, bathroom and bedroom exhibition, and we wanted to be a part of it.

For four decades, KBB has been the meeting place for retailers, designers, developers, and installers to see the latest trends, innovation launches and partnership strength. Therefore, attending this landmark event not only inspired us but also showed us how to stay at the forefront of bespoke kitchen design.

Behind the Scenes at Planet Furniture

Events like KBB are not just a day out of the showroom for us; we deliberately and purposefully travel to these industry events for our clients. It’s a chance for us to get up close to new products, speak directly with manufacturers and understand technical developments first-hand. It allows us to ensure our clients receive the very best advice and solutions that are available on the market.

There is a huge difference between viewing a product in a brochure and experiencing it in person. We get to test finishes, examine the build quality, explore colour variations and ask the questions that matter. That way, when we recommend a tap, appliance, or handle, it’s based on genuine insight, not guesswork.

We love to take our clients on a journey, and the behind-the-scenes is just as important as what you see. While our clients are presented with their finished bespoke kitchen, careful research, relationship-building, and product knowledge drive every decision. Attending KBB Birmingham allows us to stay ahead of trends, refine our craftsmanship and ultimately deliver kitchens that combine innovation with timeless design.

Because for us, it is not just about building a beautiful kitchen; it’s about ensuring you have the best possible kitchen.

Reconnecting with Brands We Trust

One of the highlights of attending this event was reconnecting with brands we regularly incorporate into our bespoke kitchen projects.

Throughout the day, we spent time exploring the latest collection from Armac Martin, whose beautifully British-engineered brass hardware continues to define timeless detailing. It’s a piece of hardware that remains a perfect complement to our handmade cabinetry.

Meanwhile, Blanco showcased their elegant sink and tap solutions that balance practicality with sleek design, and Quooker once again impressed us with their innovative boiling, filtered and sparkling systems, reinventing modern convenience.

The Innovation That Elevates Everyday Living

Of course, with appliance innovation at the forefront of the industry, we visited BORA, where they demonstrated their cutting-edge extraction systems and their flush hob designs, proving that minimalism and performance can coexist beautifully with contemporary layouts. Similarly, Westin Cooker Hoods presented powerful yet refined extraction solutions to suit both traditional and modern kitchens.

We also presented ourselves at Hendel & Hendel, whose distinctive hardware collections continue to bring subtle personality and elegance to our projects. Every shape and design shapes the overall feel of the space, and it was exciting to see their new finishes and collections for the year ahead.

Finally, SMEG delivered its signature touch with a blend of performance and design flair.

Why Attending KBB Mattered to Planet Furniture

We attended KBB Birmingham to connect with suppliers face-to-face and explore their latest innovations. It gave us the chance to understand how these new products can enhance our bespoke kitchen designs.

More importantly, it’s a way of reinforcing our commitment to quality, carefully selecting every brand we work with. Seeing the craftsmanship, testing the finishes and discussing future developments ensures we continue to deliver the very best kitchen that combines beauty, performance and longevity.
